No parent starts off knowing what to do...
Without Conscious Effort, Our Parenting Methods Can Create Conflict Instead of Connection.
The authoritarian way most of us have been taught to parent, creates conflict and frustration, endless power struggles and leaves us with broken and distant relationships with our children.
When we parent our children without working through our own history, we are destined to repeat painful patterns we ourselves experienced as children, no matter how badly we want it to be different.
Healing
Heal the wounds you experienced as a child, so your children don't have to
Connection
Create a relationship with your children based on trust, connection and collaboration
Peace
Experience peace, harmony and mutual understanding with your children
It's Never Too Late to Try Something New
No matter what your relationship with your child(ren) looks like right now, there is hope.
Depending on where things are at, it can be hard to believe there is truly another way. But I promise you there is.
None of us start off as parents knowing what to do. We create plans, try to be the people we want to be and watch as our idealistic imaginings get run over by the reality of daily life and the immense pressures of caring for our kids.
Hi! I'm Courtney Hannon
I always knew I wanted to parent differently.
I wanted my children to confide in me instead of fear me, to choose to do the right thing because it was right, not because they'd get in trouble.
I became a parenting coach because I was completely committed to building that different kind of relationship with my kids than what I grew up with. Once I saw how possible it was, mutual trust instead of fear, understanding instead of control, I got hooked on helping other parents get there too.
I believe every kid deserves the best version of us, as parents. Not the reactive version. The one underneath.
If you're stuck in a cycle of yelling and punishment, and you feel like you're missing the connection you actually want with your kids, I get it. Parenting is rewarding and it's hard, and most parents feel overwhelmed with no clear starting point. I help you move from reactive to present, from high-conflict to peaceful. We dig into the beliefs and patterns underneath the behavior, and I give you real tools to show up the way you actually want to show up at home.
You want to be a loving, connected parent. Getting there means reimagining and rebuilding the relationship you have with your kids now, not just managing behavior in the moment.
You deserve a relationship with your kids built on trust, not fear. It's possible. I've built it in my own home, with two boys, and I help other parents build it in theirs.
Parenting is hard. You don't have to figure out the peaceful version alone.
The traditional 'power-over' model of parenting isn't working.
It makes you feel like you're not doing a good job.
But that's not the truth. I believe that the real issue is that we're not taught how to be the kind of parents most of us long to be so we end up slipping into the patterns that were ingrained in us in our own childhoods.
Which is why when you contact me, you will be met with understanding, a non-judgemental openness and a supportive, personalized, effective plan that I will personally guide you through every step of the way.

How It Works:
When you book a call with me, we'll sit down together and talk so I can get a sense of what's going on for you and your family and where I can offer support.
I'll explain my approach and the options we have for working together. You can ask any questions you have and see what type of support would be the best fit for your life and schedule.
If it feels right to you, we can book our first session and get started. If it's not a good fit, I will do my best to offer alternative resources or suggestions for support, wherever possible. There's no pressure of any kind, simply an opportunity to see if we are a good fit to work together.
